Papaya is known for its exfoliating and softening properties so I thought I would make it for the face. Because it is a facial soap I thought it would be best to make it unfragranced. Visually I wanted it to look like papaya so I used unrefined palm oil as it is bright orange in colour and tempered it with some titanium dioxide. I used dried papaya seeds which added a bit more character. This is the recipe;
30% Olive oil (30%) – 150g
30% Coconut oil (30%) – 150g
30% Unrefined palm oil (30%) – 150g
10% Papaya Oil (10%) – 50g
70.99g NaOH (Sodium Hydroxide)
*The above instructions assume that you know the basic cold process technique and are aware of all safety precautions. Please to do not make cold processed soap unless you are experienced using this method. You may want to run the recipe through a soap calculator to ensure you have the correct amount of lye.
